Governance, Compliance, and Risk Oversight Module

Module Overview

Symmetry Guard is the Risk/Governance/Assurance piece of the Symmetry Visuals suite. The focus is on safeguarding initiatives, programs, and operations. It provides structured tools for managing governance frameworks, risk identification and mitigation, compliance checkpoints, audit readiness, Accreditation and ATO (if needed) and aligned to policies or standards.

Key Capabilities
  • Governance Frameworks: Define governance structures and framework and escalation paths, and approval gates for programs
  • Risk Registry: Log, categorize, and monitor risks by likelihood, impact, and area of exposure. Assign owners and mitigation plans
  • Compliance Checklist Builder: Create tailored compliance checklists based on standards (e.g., ISO, ITAR, NIST, industry-specific).
  • Policy Enforcement: Attach policies and guidance directly to milestones, deliverables, or departments.
  • Control Validation: Link controls to checkpoints with evidence upload and validation workflows.
Relationship to Other Modules
  • Symmetry Horizon: Risks and controls are tied to milestones or strategic initiatives. Compliance gates can be embedded into the roadmap timelines (ex GSEP or GARA).
  • Symmetry Insight: Risk and compliance KPIs are tracked as part of operational performance and tracked in Insight dashboards widgets
  • Symmetry Playbook: Policies and SOPs referenced in Guard are maintained and with execution happening in Playbook.
  • Symmetry Edge: Training related to compliance and governance (e.g., platform software (like MBX), security, data handling, quality assurance) are linked from Horizon or Guard to learning content in Edge.
  • Symmetry Gauge: Tracks risk exposure or compliance alignment for suppliers and third parties supporting the programs
